Winter Destination Marketing Campaign Update |
November saw the launch of our second winter destination marketing campaign, currently running through the end of February. The purpose of this winter campaign is to increase visitation during the slower months of early December, January and February, while underscoring our commitment to stewardship.
The campaign’s theme, Redefine Winter, encourages visitors to let go of their preconceived notions of a winter vacation and allow the unexpected elements of Sedona to surprise and delight them while here. Although we are a high-desert community, our sunny winter days, flowing Oak Creek waters, and stunning red rock formations are unexpected to first time visitors. By redefining their expectations of travel, we are challenging visitors to redefine themselves at the same time.
We welcome you to augment this message in your own marketing efforts:

A key function of the City’s Tourism Program is hosting travel writers in Sedona to garner earned media that enhances our reputation as a leading national and international destination.
In early November, our team partnered with Visit Phoenix and Experience Scottsdale to host Monica Fish, a direct publisher with MSN. Monica was intrigued by the growing interest in stargazing, and published the article, “Nocturnal Tourism Is Skyrocketing. This Stellar Arizona Town Is the Perfect Heavenly Spot” on MSN that was syndicated in more than 100 other media outlets.
